New Makeup Work: Classified’s latest music video featuring B.O.B. for his new single “Higher”.
The nostalgic late 80’s early 90’s theme of the video kind of dictated the makeup & hair but I kept it minimal on colour and allowed other colours on set to shine.
I’ll be posting behind the scenes photos in a few days as well so stay tuned for those! Nothing fancy, just iPhone ones ;)
Overall, I kept the lead girl’s face looking classic, with a contemporary twist ~ not heavily specific to the 80’s & 90’s decades to keep things fresh..

Makeup & Hair work for another fun kid’s toy commercial! Above are some iPhone snaps on set & below is a link to the final visuals on my website:

Growing up… I never thought I’d be working on similar toy commercials I watched Saturday mornings as a kid.
Fast forward *many years later and I’m part of the crew, working with various talents behind the scenes.
Being a freelance artist is not a walk in the park but I consider myself lucky to work in a field I truly enjoy!
An extra perk is getting sneak peaks at products before they’re released on the market :D.
The above photos are iPhone snaps from set.

Grooming & manicures on the set of another kid’s TV commercial in Toronto. This time for Hotwheels. Loved the mini sets the art department put together:

I’ve been using my Clarisonic Mia 2 for about a month now and I’ve definitely noticed a difference in the texture of my skin!
One thing I determined, is the biggest change occurs within the first few uses.
As previously noted, the kit came with four different brush heads: delicate (pale blue base), sensitive (b&w bristles with white base), normal (grey base) & deep pore cleansing (blue & white bristles on a white base).
I immediately started using the ‘deep pore’ cleansing brush…I’m a frequent exfoliator so I figured my skin could handle it! But I may have jumped the gun a little cuz the tops of my cheeks got slightly red after the 4th use :/ On the positive side, I *did notice that my skin was much smoother with less dry patches :)…
I switched to the ‘normal skin’ brush head on my 5th use which felt very much like the ‘deep pore brush’ - it’s still quite coarse so be sure to dampen the brush with luke warm water before using ;). I also switched my face wash to Dermalogica’s fragrance free cleansing gel - The one that came with the package was geared specifically for oily skin and my skin veers more towards normal to dry in the winter. After 1 week, my skin was still fairly smooth & glowy :)
The second week was a little different. I think my skin started purging which caused a bit of bumps on my forehead, cheeks & chin >.< - A friend who owns one mentioned this may happen in the 2nd or 3rd week of regular use so I knew it was a bound to occur!
I’ve just completed my 4th week of use and the bumps have started to go away - definitely less dull in all areas and less dry patches overall.
Pros:
~ I saw fast results which means I can use it on clients prior to makeup application & see an immediate difference in their skin
~ The patended sonic technology really works to give a squeaky clean feel & smooth finish to the skin - there was no dirt or makeup residue left on my face after swiping a cotton pad soaked in toner
Cons:
~ The battery needs to be regularly charged as it looses power within 6-8 uses
~ The bumps that may arise after a couple weeks of using. This may not happen to all but it’s possible if you don’t go for regular facials - that would be me! :S
Overall I would recommend this ultra cleansing / exfoliating machine because:
• It helps brighten a dull complexion
• You’ll no longer need granular exfoliants which can contribute to or worsen enlarged pores
• It can save you time & money since it’s fairly equivalent to getting a microdermabrasion facial at a spa
Last Tips:
* Be sure to use a suitable cleanser for your specific skin type Try: Dermalogica’s (fragrance free) gel cleanser or Purity by Philosophy if you have dry, sensitive skin
* After a few weeks of twice a day use, switch to once a day for maintenance if you have ultra sensitive skin. Otherwise, you can always switch to a softer brush head (e.g. the delicate brush) to continue a twice a day ritual ;).

My good friend Nicole Babb recently catered the re-launch of Tips Nail Bar Salon owned by nail artist Leanne Colley. The swanky space is located just east of Pape at 848 Danforth Ave.
Thoroughly enjoyed the hors d’oeuvres & delicious sweets! Also got to know some of the lovely & talented staff :) Last but not least, adored the interior decor!
A shoot I worked on earlier in the year (near spring time) featuring Alex Lis from Ford Models. It was a totally relaxed setting bumping old school Warren G & Nate Dogg ;)

My sister Kat was my model for a hair course refresher I took this past July. The photo on the left was shot w/ my iphone on the trial day & the photo on the right was shot by Adrien Fiebig / Makeup & Hair: Sherlyn Torres ;)
Worked on Massari’s latest video & shot some behind the scenes pics of the video gals.
The outfits were stunning & elaborate so the makeup & hair had to look equally fabulous!
The result ~ Alternating focal points between eyes & lips to keep the overall looks balanced and not heavily done. Each makeup & hair look also had to compliment every outfit which enabled them to shine and rightfully so ;)…
It was tough to narrow down the shots since there were so many interesting looks throughout the day but I decided on the above :) Which makeup look do you like best?

One of my fave DJs & long time friend DJ Lissa Monet dropped by to get her makeup done for her birthday Celebration at Devil’s Martini (downtown Toronto). This girl eats, sleeps & breathes music & has impeccable taste when working those turn tables. DJ Lissa Monet brings chic back to music & puts her own little spin on it ;)
