Flutterby Fairy Commercial - Behind the Scenes
Growing up… I never thought I’d be working on similar toy commercials I watched Saturday mornings as a kid.
Fast forward *many years later and I’m part of the crew, working with various talents behind the scenes.
Being a freelance artist is not a walk in the park but I consider myself lucky to work in a field I truly enjoy!
An extra perk is getting sneak peaks at products before they’re released on the market :D.
The above photos are iPhone snaps from set.

Autumn Hill - Behind the Scenes
Shortly after working with Autumn Hill on their vid, they called again but this time for a promo shoot with Matt Barnes at Westside Studios. They’re both incredibly genuine & talented w/ quirky personalities so I was really excited to work with them again :D
Here’s what I did for Makeup & Hair…
Tareya really liked the way I did her eyes for their video and preferred to stay in line with a clean eye. To step it up a notch, I added…
• Extra contour to her crease area using Philosophy eye shadow
• Highlighted the inner corners with Rice Paper from M.A.C
• Added my signature winged liner using Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Liner
• Applied Big False Lashes from M.A.C. ~ #35’s - one of my personal faves!
I kept the rest of the face pretty clean, well contoured and flawless with a hint of peachy blush. The lips were a barely there nude shade - Adorable from Stila mixed with Siss did the trick :)
I kept the hair voluminous, flowy with large waves using a 1.5 inch curling iron.
Look #2 was fairly similar in terms of the eyes. I just added mascara to the lower lashes and altered the lip color to a nice vibrant pink which went really well with the white T and light blue ripped jeans. I used “Silly” from M.A.C.’s new fashion collection & it really helped to brighten Tareya’s face.
Look # 3 called for some body art on Tareya’s forearms - my partner used an x-acto knife to cut triangles on stencil paper and I used a M.A.C. pigment mixed w/ a bit of water to fill in the triangular patterns.
Coincidentally, the design went really well with the necklace… And the multi-iridescent shades the pigment gave off went perfectly with the duo’s outfits - Everything worked out as it often magically happens on set :) lol The finishing touch was Diva lipstick from M.A.C. which capped off the look really nicely!
