#SETLife: Sherlyn Torres Beauty - Behind The Scenes - Iphone Snaps

It was a busy few days this Victoria long weekend! One of the projects I was involved in was a camera test for a short film entitled Natasha by award winning novelist / Director David Bezmozgis.

The challenge for this particular job was to make the actress (Marina 26 yrs old) look like she was in her mid-teens. This def required some skin smoothing products… So, I used Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer, M.A.C.’s Fast Response Eye Cream & Stila’s Beauty Balm where needed.

I only applied concealer under the eyes…Not many 15 yr olds wear full coverage foundation so I had to make Marina’s skin appear bare but perfect. Lucky for me, she already had a pretty clear complexion to begin with! :).

I used Philosophy’s Lip Stain to create a natural looking but enhanced lip tone & La Roche-posay’s Lip Balm for a smooth effect. The director also asked me to add a hint of smudged black liner to the upper & lower lashes similar to the goth inspired makeup the novel character liked to wear.

The finishing touches were Philosophy’s “The Present” beige eye liner to make the eyes appear larger & more youthful -and- fuller brows using Stila’s stay all-day liquid brow pens. I also decided to contour her nose a tad since your nose does continue to grow w/ age. Each of the above products certainly helped me achieve that young & fresh look!

The other thing I was required to do was give Marina blunt bangs - I’ve cut hair before but it’s *not something I do very often so I had to re-assure the actress that I was going to take my time & do a proper cut. Thankfully she ended up loving the style, hair cut & all :D.

I didn’t really get a chance to take any other photos of Marina except for the 2 above. However, I think they totally captured the mood of the story nicely!
